Environmentally friendly options for different parts of your wedding day

Pre-Wedding Elements

  • Invitations

  • Signage

    • Rent reusable boards

  • Wardrobe, rings, & accessories

    • Attire: Shop 2nd hand. Go for a two piece that you’d love to wear again as separates.

    • Rings: Focus on family heirlooms, shop conflict free rings and lab grown diamonds for a lower carbon foot print.

  • Ceremony

  • Cocktail hour

    • Edible serving cups (think mini taco shells)

    • Have a compost bin - great for cocktail napkins and food scraps during cocktail hour later

    Table Decor

  • Tables

    • Farm house tables - no table cloths needed

    • OR folding tables with machine washable tablecloths. rent or buy. If you buy, you can use them for your next event or resell to the next couple.

  • Dinner & Flatware

    • Rentals -probably the best and most convenient sustainable option. perfectly reuseable and you won’t have to worry about storage later on.

    • Time to break out the family’s good china! If you were wondering why your grandparents had a cupboard stacked high with 100 matching plates, cups and nice dinner sets, it was meant for all the weddings and big family gatherings.

    • Bamboo and certified sustainable harvested disposables to achieve an upscale tropical or organic natural look.

  • Potted plants or flowers? You can do both!

    • Opt for native plants. Will also reduce floral cost.

    • After ceremony, plant the potted plants in your garden or keep them around your apartment

    • Succulent terrariums make great center pieces and you can bring them home and keep watching them grow

    • Two options with flowers. Compost flowers afterwards OR turn them into art.

  • Candles & lanters

    • Go for non-toxic candles made from natural wax like beeswax, or soy wax.

    • containers like glass and tin that are recyclable and reusable
