Affordable Wedding Venues
CONGRATS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT!! As a gift, we compiled the ultimate list of questions to ask when interviewing wedding venues that save our couples thousands of dollars $$$ every time.
Our first tip: Before talking to vendors, make sure to finalize two things with your partner; your wedding vision, and the budget. We share more tips on that in a few of our other articles.
Now with those two things out of the way, here are our favorite questions that rarely get asked. The good news is asking these questions will save you money when choosing the venue AND give you peace of mind knowing all the big stuff is handled. Work with the Events in a Crunch team to curate a list of venues that match your budget and desired vibe for your wedding.
And if you're managing this part yourself, pull up our list when you go to your next venue meeting. Use it like a checklist and let us know how it went!
Wedding day flow questions
Who is responsible for set up & breakdown for the ceremony and reception?
Can we tour the bridal suite and the groom's den where each wedding party gets ready before the ceremony? (make sure both spaces feel great! if the spaces don't look great, you might be tempted to rent a secondary location to get ready which increases the budget)
Does your team use any signage to direct guests to the proper gates or event areas?
If it rains, are there at least two rooms large enough to hold our wedding guests? one for the ceremony/dinner reception and one for the cocktail hour?
Logistics
We were looking for small wedding venues near me but found your big beautiful space. Do you have smaller rooms for rent that would lower the rental price?
What decorations are provided by the venue?
Are your outdoor wedding venues equipped with hot and cold temperature control? Or would we have to rent that separately?
Ceremony Questions
What times are available for rehearsal if you have a wedding scheduled on the same day?
What resources can you make available for non-traditional ceremony structures? Mandaps, Chuppas, candle lighting, document signing, etc...
What is the audio setup like for DJ or musicians during the ceremony?
Some often forgotten budgeting questions...
Is there a security deposit and what's the time frame for getting the deposit returned?
Are we required to provide meals for your staff and if so, how many? (Budget about $100/ staff)
What are your event insurance requirements and how will that impact overall cost?
What level of staffing is provided and how will they support the overall flow of the day?
Are you running any special discounts or promotions that would make our wedding more affordable?
With our full planning and virtual planning packages, you can work with our team to make this part of the process smooth sailing.
